水社柳（學名：Salix kusanoi）又名金柳、草野氏柳，为杨柳科柳属的常綠落葉性喬木，是台灣原生特有種。主要分布在台灣南投、宜蘭、屏東低海拔至1500公尺以下山區之濕地及池塘。最早是日本人草野俊助在日月潭水社部落採集到，所以以日月潭的舊名「水社海」名之為「水社柳」，同時也被稱為「草野氏柳」。水社柳由於其育地狹隘且極度稀有，野外成熟個體逐漸減少而被林務局評估為「瀕臨絕滅」（Endangered）。[1][2][3]
生長型態
水社柳植株高3～7公尺。單葉，互生，葉卵形、長橢圓形至長橢圓狀披針形，長7～12公分，寬2～3公分，基部較肥大為圓至心形，先端漸漸變細尖。雌雄異株，葇荑花序，腋生，雄花顏色黃色，雌花白色。12月至隔年2月是開花時期，雄株的花苞吐出金黃色花穗，很多黃色小花同時生長在一根花軸上，伸長的金黃色花絲相當顯眼，遠觀全株披滿金色，所以水社柳又被稱為「金柳」。秋、冬季時，葉子會掉落，植株停止生長。
