修女

修女（英语：Nun），是天主教、東正教、聖公會以及信義宗的女性修行人員，通常須發三愿（即“绝财”、“绝色”、“绝意”），从事祈祷和协助神父进行传教。在中国，修女有时称为“姆姆”或“嬷嬷”。德雷莎修女是知名修女之一，获1979年诺贝尔和平奖。同名小说有十八世纪法国作家狄德罗一部著名的哲理小说《修女》。
修女必須領洗5年以上才可提出申請，並需加入女修會，在初學院修道至少6年。此外，要正式成為修女，需經過誓發初願、複願、終身願等過程，表示自己對天主的獻身。在誓發終身願後，便終身不能結婚。
修女是基督宗教中离家进修会的女教徒，並非神職人員。正式而言，神職人員三級制度包含：主教、司鐸（神父）與執事。

修女終身不能結婚，所以常招致人們的好奇，有許多中古世紀小說（如《十日談》）都會提到修女的性行為。
