滑雪是指利用滑雪板在雪地滑行的一種體育運動。滑雪和滑冰、滑水有相似之处,但是滑的表面不同。
滑雪可以分成两大类:北欧滑雪和高山滑雪。北欧滑雪起源于斯堪的纳维亚地区的滑雪,北欧风格的滑雪板上的皮靴固定装置装在滑雪靴的足尖位置,而不是后跟。高山滑雪起源于阿尔卑斯山地区的滑雪,滑雪靴的足尖和后跟都有皮靴固定装置。虽然某些运动同时适合两种类型,但是固定装置和起源的不同将这两种类型区分开来。
从技术上讲,滑雪运动当中主要有平等划降、犁型划降等初级技术动作,和以驾云速降为代表的高难度动作。
