Painki(also known as Paika in Odisha) is a nagpuri folk dance in the state of Jharkhand. Painki is a ceremonial martial dance. It is perfermed by men. They wear ghungroo and dance holding sword and shield. This dance is accompanied by the music of instruments such as Nagara, Dhak and Shehnai. [1][2] Originally, dance is known as Pairghani, which performed during wedding and playing of sword, stick is known as Painki.
